Lath and Plaster

Also known as Brander and Plaster.

Traditional way of forming plaster surface in ceiling or timber partitions; now largely obsolete (replaced by plasterboard) but regularly found in properties built pre-1940. Comprises a number of horizontal battens or laths, which form a key for the plaster.
